We're a small, family-run business (it's just me and my daughter).
Recently, a very nice lady went to one of those "free products" message boards and posted a short blurb about our offer of a free name badge for Queens of Red Hat chapters.
Overnight we went from 4 or 5 requests per week for free Red Hat Queen name badges to more than 200 requests per day.
Unfortunately over 60% of those requests are from people who are not Red Hat Queens. With postage, packaging, materials and labor, it costs me right around $4.10 to send out a single "free" Queen's name badge. So the folks who are not Queens of a Red Hat chapter and are requesting free name badges are increasing my costs by over $480 per day - something I just plain can't afford.
I give away the free Red Hat Queen name badges because almost all of the Red Hat Queens who get them will end up ordering name badges for all the ladies in their chapters (the average order is for 16 name badges).
If you're not the Queen of a Red Hat chapter, please do not request a free Red Hat Queen's name badge.
I'll be happy to sell you a name badge for our standard $4.95 price, plus shipping & handling. I don't make a lot of money on a single name badge, but it is a fair price for a very nice name badge.
